Commitment

At Paul Mac Carpentry, we are committed to maintaining a work and service environment grounded in respect, fairness, and integrity. Every employee, client, contractor, and partner is valued and treated with dignity.

We comply with all applicable federal and provincial human rights and anti-discrimination laws, including the Canadian Human Rights Act, the Ontario Human Rights Code, and related employment standards regulations.

Scope

This policy applies to:

Zero-Tolerance Policy

We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment, or retaliation in any form. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Employment or subcontracting decisions influenced by protected characteristics
  • Derogatory or offensive language, jokes, or behaviour
  • Unequal treatment of clients or workers
  • Creating or contributing to a hostile or unsafe work environment
  • Retaliation against anyone who reports misconduct or participates in an investigation

All individuals—whether staff, trades, or clients—are expected to uphold this standard of professionalism and respect.

Consequences

Violations of this policy will lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Serious misconduct such as harassment, assault, or threats of violence will result in immediate termination and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Reporting Procedures

If you experience or witness discrimination or harassment:

  1. Report the incident to your supervisor, project manager, or company leadership.
  2. Reports will be treated seriously and confidentially.
  3. Investigations will be conducted promptly, fairly, and without bias.
  4. Retaliation against individuals who make a report or participate in an investigation is strictly prohibited.

Anonymous reports may also be reviewed where sufficient information is provided to take action.
